A museum for the future

Approached in July 2022 by Carleton University professor Lyette Fortin, the Musée régional de l’Outaouais, in partnership with the Azrieli School of Architecture and Urban Planning, developed proposals for the reuse of the E.B. Eddy industrial complex. This heritage site was one of the options analyzed in the 2021 feasibility study for the future museum.
Six projects were completed during the 2023 winter session. Teams of three students were asked to stimulate pride in identity, promote inclusion, solidarity and respect, and develop community involvement. From these criteria, the students had to include these three spaces within the future museum complex: reception space, a place to store and preserve the collection, and a gathering place for activities and entertainment.
The exhibition features plans and models designed by the students.

Virtual exhibition: Secrets of the Outaouais

Les secrets de l'Outaouais is a university project about unusual places in the beautiful Outaouais region. Even though I'm originally from this beautiful part of the country, I'm still discovering many of its secrets. The Outaouais is brimming with history, and I'm convinced there's so much more to discover. That's why I wanted to share these unusual discoveries. To open the eyes of many to the wonders that lie so close to home.
